PSYCHE RETREAT
Psyche (Ψυχή) is derived from the Greek verb psycho (Ψύχω), which means to breathe, blow or cool. Psyche, as both a concept and mythological figure, has an extensive lineage throughout antiquity. It was originally understood to be an animating life force or divine exhalation that marks the relationship between the mortal and the immortal. It has come to be commonly known as the soul or the breath of life.
As helping professionals, who work with the psyches of others all day, the Psyche Retreat invites you back to your own. This reconnection might be particularly apt for helping professionals, whose energies and gaze are often directed towards the wounds of others. The Psyche Retreat embraces and welcomes those tendencies, yet hopes to co-create an experience of greater wholeness in your self-expression born from unleashing your more dormant soulful creative and generative energies.

Rick Laska, LICSW, CST
Rick is a Minnesota-born, gay, white, cisgender, assigned male at birth (AMAB), human. He started his undergraduate degree as a musician, focusing on classical music performance (the oboe). After struggling with the high stress levels involved with performing, he shifted his focus to French Studies. This led to a confusing, uncertain wandering with his life. He spent time as a barista, worked at a wine bar, worked as a receptionist, and eventually in sales and marketing.
After a tragic loss, he evaluated his path and decided to make a shift: an entry level job at a HIV social services organization. It was there he discovered that although his life had taken a series of bizarre turns, his passion was really in helping people access their ability to flourish, even in the face of adversity.
He especially found passion in connecting with people around their sexuality and identity. Some cultures have very oppressive values when it comes to fundamental components of our lives: who we are, desire, the erotic, sex, and pleasure. We are meant to do more than survive the day-to-day; we are meant to flourish.
This belief in each person's ability to flourish eventually led him to psychedelics and how they can enhance those who are on their own, unique, healing paths.

Rachel Blackman
Rachel Blackman is a somatic coach, trainer, ritualist, and Feldenkrais practitioner, as well as an educator and theatre maker. She trains coaches in embodied intelligence through The Somatic School and her own animist modality, Integrative Somatic Feedback. Her work is grounded in creativity, biological intelligence, and supporting sustainable change through neuroplasticity.
An animist at heart, Rachel creates spaces that weave together the sacred, the embodied, and our relationship with the living world. She works one-to-one and with groups, offering somatic coaching, earth-honouring ritual, and creative practice. She is an ICF-accredited coach, an FGUK-registered Feldenkrais practitioner, and has over two decades of experience supporting people to integrate profound and numinous experiences into everyday embodied life.

Zeger
Zeger is a musical pilgrim who finds inspiration in the many ways people from all over the world have approached music as a doorway to transcendence.
He traveled the world in search for the spiritual roots of music, eager to learn more about the ways in which the healing properties of music are used in different sacred music traditions around the world.
Besides his work as a musician and composer, Zeger has been working as a music educator, hosting workshops and retreats, born out of a desire to help people deepen their connection with music, find more flow and freedom in their creative expression and learn more about the many different ways in which music can be used as a tool for healing and meditation.

Celina Bedbur
Celina, is based in Cologne. Her own psychedelic journey began several years ago, first alone, then with the compassionate guidance of Susanna. Through this, she came to deeply appreciate the healing power of this work, which makes her all the more grateful to now contribute herself.
As a wilderness educator, cycle mentor, and nutritionist, Celina supports people in reconnecting with themselves, with nature, and with forgotten wisdom. She also brings her passion for food, foraging, and cooking into the retreat, caring for the group in the kitchen with love and mindfulness helping you to nourish the body, heart, and soul throughout the process.
A bit more
The Psyche Retreat will start with a night in Amsterdam to connect with your fellow journeyers and then will move to a cozy Dutch farmhouse, Erve Veldink, in Haarlo (about 2 hours east of Amsterdam) that has a history dating back to the 14th century. The current buildings are 120 years old and are protected as a historical monument. Erve is surrounded by fertile soil that supports the growth of fields of sunflowers, grazing for cows, chickens and even a few peacocks and is ideal for walks and stargazing.
We hope this retreat will also invite you into a new relationship with being in a group, which is often a source of energetic drain and scarcity of resources for those in the helping professions. What we might not have received in our family of origin or current working conditions, we hope to cultivate together, through the healing power of communitas, or a collective sense of togetherness and shared humanity, that researchers are finding is vital to the transformative power of group retreats (Kettner et al., 2021).
Once we are in Haarlo at Erve, all room accommodations will be shared in a summer camp-like cabin sleeping arrangement. We hope this invitation sparks curiosity to reimagine your experience being in community with others alongside a re-emerging ability to express your needs, ease in setting good boundaries, and joyousness in connection.
In addition to our two legal psilocybin journeys, Rachel Blackman, our special guest and a somatic experiencing coach, will be supporting your cultivation of inner resourcing and psyche connection during our two full integration days onsite together.

Hermès Retreat
Castricum, The Netherlands, 9-13 March, 2026
Where Icarus embodies longing and daring, Hermes offers navigation and return, guiding us to move between worlds without losing ourselves. In his many forms, from the winged messenger to Hermes Trismegistus, he stands at the threshold between spirit and matter, guiding the passage between worlds. His ancient teachings speak of correspondence - as above, so below; as within, so without, reminding us that true transformation isn’t found in escape, but in integration.
The Hermes Retreat invites this kind of alchemy: a deeper journey that honors both longing and presence, vision and embodiment. It’s a path for those who wish not just to transcend, but to return, carrying what they’ve seen into the fabric of daily life. What we touch in the heights must be lived on the ground.
